Sunday Quick Shot on the River with the iPhone

Ever since I bought a new iPhone I find myself taking more and more pictures with it because it is so quick and easy. The iPhone doesn’t produce DSLR quality but I’ve found it works good enough for getting quick shots when I don’t want to pull the DSLR out the drybag. Those quick shots are better than no shots at all.

I have a compact waterproof camera too, but the iPhone sees more use than it too. I think it’s the convenience factor of uploading photos to the web, email and Facebook. With a couple presses of a button I can display the photo in numerous places.

This isn’t a plug for the iPhone, but just my observations with it and how I found myself using it more and more on my river fishing trips.

Lake Life After Work

My buddy and I decided to do some after work kayak fishing on Lake Sinclair here in Georgia. Big lake fishing isn’t necessarily my cup of tea, but it was fun to be on the water and tangle with a couple largemouth bass. Sure beats the couch, especially since the weather is in the lower 80′s right now. Got to take advantage of that!

A white Zoom superfluke was the lure of the day and my buddy put a whooping on me using it. I decided to throw a large swimbait, hoping to call up a monster largemouth from the depths. I didn’t catch the monster, but had one or two decent followers. No takers on the swimbait, though! That’s the life of fishing big swimbaits. There might not be many bites, but hold on once you do get that bite. Chances are that it’ll be a monster!

A 2011 Kayak Fishing Year in Review – In Pictures

2012 is only a few hours away so I figured this was the perfect opportunity to look back at 2011. So, here are some on the water kayak fishing pictures from 2011.

There’s some pictures of fish. Some pictures of kayaks and some pictures of fishing out of kayaks. Some pictures of me, well mostly, and some pictures of my fishing buddies!

Hopefully, in 2012 I’ll spend the time to take more and even better pictures. I guess that will be my first goal for 2012: Take more and better pictures.

So hopefully this time next year I’ll be able to share some amazing pictures with y’all!

Here’s 2011……
